A group of community members who help to provide and ensure that every child receives a memorable Christmas. The group organizes the annual Harbor Holidays held on the first Saturday in December, Holiday lighting contest, Halloween Costume Contest. Residents must have a permit before removing trees in the tree lawns. This no-fee permit can be obtained by writing the Tree Commission at 220 Third Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio 44077. Tree trimming does not require a permit. Tree removal and trimming must be done at the expense of the homeowner. The Tree Commission does fund (100%) the planting of new trees. The Village will care for the new tree for one year, after which the resident is responsible for caring for the new tree. Meetings are held at the Fairport Village Hall, 220 Third Street, on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. For additional information, contact the village hall at (440) 352-3620. This ordinance will ban on-street parking in a weather emergency when declared by the Mayor or his designee; two inches or more of snow/icy roads will automatically constitute a snow emergency.
