This past weekend, the Tall Ships came to Fairport Harbor thanks to the Fairport Harbor Heritage Foundation. Historic ships, Lake Erie, and the threat of pirates? We definitely wanted to go and check it out.
The weekend’s activities included music from local and regional bands, historic Viking displays, walk-aboards, sailing, and the Pirates of the Rusty Cutlass.

We are writing to inform you of a potential data security incident that may affect you and your resident taxpayers. We value our relationship with you, and want to make sure we are handling this event in a manner that addresses any concerns you may have.
On November 10, 2015, while preparing to destroy a limited number of DVDs, used as part of our previous back-up system, we discovered that one of the DVD cases was empty and the DVD missing. We immediately began an investigation, and on November 17, 2015, determined that the missing DVD mostly likely contained backup copies of income tax documents submitted on or before June 2012. Unfortunately, these documents include taxpayers' names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and possibly date of birth. If the taxpayer included financial information with their municipal income tax document, this data may also have been contained on the DVD.
Drop box now available for Fairport water bill payments
To make it more convenient for residents to pay their water bills, and in anticipation of our cold winters, the Village has installed a drop box on the northwest side of the Village Hall parking lot for water payments only. Beginning now, you will be able to walk or drive up to place your water bill payment inside the secure box. Be advised that only check payments will be processed; no cash or other bills will be accepted in the drop box.
Council meetings NOW held at Senior Center/Community Center
The Village of Fairport Harbor council meetings are held at the Fairport Harbor Senior Center/Community Center, 1380 East Street, Fairport Harbor. As always, the public is invited and encouraged to attend. The hope is to increase attendance by having the meeting in a larger, more inviting space which will also be more accessible to residents since it will not require climbing stairs. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 6:30 p.m.
