On February 19, 2025, the Village of Fairport Harbor received a Notice of Violation from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) for a monitoring violation related to disinfection by-products (Ohio Administrative Code 3745-81-24). This violation was the result of a collection scheduling error and did not indicate any immediate risk to public health.

Upon receiving notification from the OEPA, the Village worked promptly with the Agency to correct the violation and to ensure full compliance moving forward. As part of corrective action, we have implemented additional safeguards to prevent similar monitoring issues in the future.
