Village Administrator

The Village Administrator oversees the daily operations of the Village, ensuring the efficient delivery of municipal services. This office implements the vision set forth by the Mayor and Council by supervising Village departments, assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, and managing capital projects. The Village Administrator also works to improve infrastructure, coordinate community initiatives, and support economic development efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents and businesses.

About Lukas Darling, MPA
Lukas Darling was appointed as the Administrator for the Village of Fairport Harbor in July 2024. He previously served as the Administrator for Otterbein, Indiana (pop. 1,135) and Roaming Shores, Ohio (pop. 1,575). He received a bachelor’s degree in history from Youngstown State University, and a Master of Public Administration from Arkansas State University. He is passionate about active transportation, mixed-use development, and building strong systems that help uplift our residents and businesses.

Fiscal Officer

The Fiscal Officer serves as the chief financial administrator of the Village, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with state and local regulations. As Clerk of Council, they maintain official records, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and ensure transparency in Village governance. This dual role supports the financial stability and efficient administration of Village operations.

Solicitor

The Village Solicitor is the chief legal officer of the Village, appointed annually by the Council under ORC §733.48. The Solicitor provides legal counsel to the Mayor, Council, and Village departments, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Additionally, the Solicitor represents the Village in legal matters, including the prosecution and defense of court and administrative proceedings.
